Name: Kyp AniKor Torvyn
Title: Assassin of the Guild
Race: Dark Elf
Appearance: Growing up in a world of Dark Elves, Kyp has always stuck out from the rest of his brethren. Unlike the common Dark Elf, Kyp has retained the hair color of his unknown Antiochian Father, a majestically jet black shade of twilight. To accompany the long flowing wave of darkness that is Animus's Hair, is a short yet full black goatee. Upon his gaze are pupils of yellow, a side effect of the years of living in the Dark City, which are not unlike Dark elves to have. Adorned upon his face are two silver, rusted, earrings, one before the other on his right ear.
To further distance him from the common Dark Elf of Goradur, Kyp wears mildly broader shoulders and stands at least a few inches above the rest, this is again the Human blood that infests him. This also comes to show that he, although still limber and nimble, lacks in comparison in these departments to his common elf brother. Making up for the weakness, however, is the strength that he wields.
Kyp, in an attempt to conceal himself, wears all black clothes, usually covered by a light pallet of armor, and is always engulfed by an ebony colored, large hooded, robe. It is the robe that is his only shield from the differences between him and the rest of society. The robe is laced with intricate and beautifully made silver lacing and stitching, and provides the shadiest of cover to his face and other unnatural features.
Personality/Quirks: Kyp is of good heart, yet corrupted and ignorant views. Caught between two conflicting worlds, and plagued with the tragic death of his mother, his ambitions of justice have only been fueled. It is not known by many the pain he feels, but it has become his virtue that to exist is to live to deal vengeance and settle the vendetta over the crime committed against his mother, no more no less. This has led to his belief that no one man can take the life of another. He fervently fights to stop the killing of people and states that he will only take his mark down.
Fear has become a tool to him. Fear is his guide that keeps him going. Fear is the weapon he uses on his adversaries. Fear has become a defeated slaver to be used on all others.
However along with the defeat of fear, sorrow has engulfed him. Many days he sulks in his hidden dwelling simply writing in his journal the thoughts that have engulfed his mind. But it is also this sorrow that drives his defeat over fear. He has come to terms with anguish, and come to terms with loss, even of himself.
Being both elf and Human, Kyp has surprisingly grown to despise the latter half, sticking with true elf code and virtue. Bitter about his mother’s mistreatment and the brash attitudes of the human dignitaries, he has grown to believe their actions will eventually bring an end to the world. It burns his soul dearly that he shares part in their blood and taint to the world. However lately he has even found doubt in his own society, for his ignorance has for so long blinded him. Now on his path for knowledge his view points are ever changing.
Kyp is an entity of two sides, one a deep and anguish filled thinker, and the other a humble force wishing to bring good to the world. Together these are what comprise the Personality of Kyp AniKor Torvyn.
Religion: The Temple of the Nine, believer of Nactun
Abilities: Archer ( Hand Crossbow), Assassin, Thief
Faction: Dark Elven Alliance, Assassins Guild
History: Andoras Torvyn, at age 35, lived a humble life in the lower sections of the grand and Dark Goradur Cavern. Surviving a reclusive and lonely life she survived off mostly foraging and small labor jobs. However, tempted with promises of a greater sense of existence, more holy and blessed, she gave into the will of the Goradur Hierarchy, submitting herself to serve the Dark Elvin societies "greater interests."
At first it seemed as if the job simply entailed accompanying high paying, wealthy, Foreign Merchants, to upper class and high priority dinners, and meetings. Occasionally she would be asked for a dance, and willingly submitted to the request, not thinking much of the repercussions; However, upon her third Month, in the new servant hood, her duties took a drastic and life changing turn.
On a particular visit by a major Antiochian Client, years before the Expedition force was sent to map the lands, the human became far more aggressive and vulgar than the others before him. Finally, she was ordered accompany him back to the embassy suite where he attempted to mate with her. Fighting back, the scene turned violent and she was beaten atrociously and finally raped. She was then fired from her job and again left to herself surviving as a small laborer. However, Months later Andoras gave birth to an infant Halfbreed. Ashamed with her misfortune, she went into hiding vowing to raise the child to be stronger than she was.
The boy was named Kyp AniKor Torvyn...
Growing up in a reclusive way of life, young 17 year old Kyp, lived an existence of adventure and discovery. Always taken aback by the world that sank below him in the form of a grand city, he always wondered what it was like to exist among the giant cantons and temples that rose to meet him in a form of a spire.
But for now little Kyp was content with exploring the highest and outermost sections of the Massive Caves upper tier. Slowly Andoras could see she could no longer hold the boy back, for he was destined for more than the meager existence she provided. Finding an old Dark Elf Legionnaire, who had upon growing out of his service, moved to a more humbler and quieter existence, far above the hustle and bustle of the grand Dark Elven City, Andoras requested her boy become his apprentice and be taught all the things she could not teach him, in return for her servant-hood.
Accepting, the old Dark Elf began tutoring the boy in swordsmanship, and basic tactics. The boy learned swiftly with an eagerness unprecedented in any other before him. Both Adult Dark Elves could see the worthiness and glorious future held within the tiny seed, ready to bloom out of Kyp. It would not be too long before he would rise from the dark crevices of lowly society and become the hero his mother prayed he would raise to be.
By the age of 19, Kyp had passed all the possible Basics of Tactics, Swordsmanship, and Philosophy. Graduating, his master told him to learn more he would have to search within himself and experience the world on his own. Andoras not seeing her son fit and ready to leave into the ruthless Dark Elf Society, told Kyp to find a job he could search knowledge through.
Getting a Job at an old library archive, in the Bazaar District, one of the few permanent buildings existing there, Kyp began deciphering the runes and symbols that were the Elvin Language. Soon he was able to decipher the books he cared for. In his first 2 years of working there, he had read a complete listing of over 800 books. Knowledge poured through him, yet it was simply knowledge, he could not prove it or see it.
Full of Adventure and Knowledge, and love for his dearest mother, Kyp would soon find all his training and scholarship were a necessity to survive. On the eve of his 21st birthday the sector of the City was engulfed in riots and violence, instigated by Antiochian diplomats wishing to avenge the disrespect of a senator some years prior, and his mother was killed despite his attempts to save her. He still is tormented with images of his hands covered in the blood of his enemies, his mother’s head resting in his lap, and his head looking up into the outside world screaming a blood curdling yell of hate. He alone slaughtered 40 lives that day.
Engulfed in anger and dread over the death of his mother, Kyp lived in secrecy at the Library, honing his skills and soaking in more knowledge to avenge the life of his mother. Within eight years of semi-seclusion, Kyp had read nearly all the books in the library, learning all his basic etiquette, and schematics of the city and its governing system, and observed social skills from afar. Slowly Kyp emerged more and more testing his abilities. Soon fear had become a tool, which drove him in and out of the shadows to confront people and manipulate them.
At 29 he found himself on a rise from the dark sections of Dark Elvin society, trying to find answers for the doubts that tore at his mind. By now he had found that his decisions had repercussions he may not be able to mend. Only through more training does he now believe the answers will be unfurled, yet he finds the time right to finally leave his shadows. Out of the darkness and seclusion he has begun his quest to find his place, as a member of the Goradur Assassins Guild. A servant of love, peace, and order.
