Well in wake of Bioware's MMORPG coming out, I say we act out what we think should happen first. Here is teh background and an opening scene. We can take it from there. Anyone in?
Nearly 300 years have passed since the Jedi Exile followed Revan into Deep Space. No word was ever heard from them again. What were they looking for? Did they ever find it? Just as the Republic began to rest easy, their Jedi Defenders safely poised in their cradle of power, a massive armada appeared from the region come to be known as Sith Space. Claiming to be the True Sith, the ones Revan sought after, their ships and legions descended upon peaceful worlds and begun to ravage civilizations across the galaxy. The war waged on mercilessly, leaving both sides counting their dead. In the end, a costly stale mate was all the efforts of either side could muster. The Sith Leadership, on the verge of collapse, decided to seek a temporary treaty with the Republic and their Jedi foes. But it was unlike the Sith to cave so easily. There was deception in their hearts. While Dark Lord Baras led a delegation on the planet of Alderaan, Lord Angral, a deadly warrior slipped passed the Coruscant defenses with the help of Bounty Hunters and led a full sized seizure of the Jedi Temple. With the capital’s defenders under control a Sith Fleet emerged from hyperspace and seized the remainder of the capital world. Using Coruscant as a bargaining chip, the Sith gained a favorable outcome at the treaty conference. The Terms handed the capital back the Republic, but the Jedi, distrusted and blamed for the war were forced to relocate on Tython their home world. All Republic forces were ordered to abandon battle field worlds, and their fleets were ordered back into Republic Space. A Cold War soon ensued. The Republic began to rebuild their forces fortifying their worlds along the shaky border, while the Sith erected an Imperial Empire under the fabled Sith Emperor said to have lived for over 1400 years. Little is known of him. Receding into Darkness the Emperor sought after a way to gain more power as he left the consolidation of the Empire’s power into the hands of 12 Dark Lord’s known as the Dark Council. With two factions vying for power, proxy wars erupt all around the border worlds; planets wishing to succeed from their parties to join the other; planets wishing to escape the madness and seek independence. It is a dark age for the war torn galaxy.
Opening: Civil War! On the war ravaged world of Ord Mantell, a corrupt Republic-loyal government seeks to quell a separatist movement. While the Ord Mantell Separatists claim they seek after independence, the Republic knows full well that if the planet were to fall, the Sith would soon swoon in to collect the Republic’s losses. Creating a questionable and shaky alliance with the criminal Underworld, the Republic now mounts an effort to fortify the planets local government ensuring it remains loyal to the Republic’s jurisdiction. Little do they know, behind the Seperatist effort is a mysterious and seemingly insurmountable amount of resources. Who is behind this unrest?

I'm pretty sure I'll steer clear of this anyways, but creating Jedi's or shadow Jedi's are okay?
Or would you like us to stick to non-force users?

Yeah Jedi are an important part of this time...looking for redemption in the eyes of a galaxy that hate them. The Sith have grown more powerful than even them. Shadow Jedi...if you can find a way for it to work go for it...

Honestly you won't find much cause no one has written any book with them. None that I know of. They are sort of a newer idea in SW.

I googled them and found a website called force academy, and they have a bunch of info on them. I'm not sure if they have anything pertaining abilities with the force because I just started reading.

I really like the idea of viewing the force not as having a dark and a light side, but just as being.
I'm probably going to make a shadow/grey jedi after I see how you want us to make our characters.

Well pay attention to the part about the Sith using this as a way to subvert Jedi teaching...That will fall into play as a Shadow Jedi.
Name: Lord Jaap Alias: Senator Kalen Dahlma (Not Necessary for all characters)
Alignment: Sith Empire/ Ord Mantell Government (Can choose separatists or any other groups)
Race: Human (Kiffar)
Age: 52
Description: Lord Mendak is a sprawling tower of a man standing at 6’4’’. He is slender yet athletically built a result of his extensive military training with the Republic and the tutelage of the Dark Lords. His eyes are bright green folding into a stern yet warming glare. Along with his well kept beard and infectious smile, the balding Senator is beloved by many, able to seemingly have his will in the Ord Mantell government.
History: Born on the uncharted world of Kiffu, Kalen Dahlma was recognized at birth for his extraordinary ability. The Force Sensitives of his clan, fearful of the young child’s potential separated him from his parents at birth and sold him to the Hutts as a slave. For his first twenty years of life the young child served under a Hutt Lord named Quobo the Hutt, a ruthless and cruel Crime Lord on Ord Mantell.
When he was 16 a Twi'lek slaver named Jac Coetelin struck down one of his only friends, another Kiffar named Sayden Dren. Unable to control his anger the young man attacked the armed man with his bare hands. Strangely, he was able to hear the thoughts of his target, and in turn was able to thwart any counter attack. When the bout was over, the Twi'lek’s face was torn apart, and his dead body was unrecognizable. Quobo was intrigued with the ability and ferocity of the young man and had him trained by a Bounty Hunter by the name of Cassius Fett.
For four years the young child killed the enemies of his master. At the age of twenty the republic decided it was in their best interest to rid Ord Mantell of major criminal syndicates, and solidify the planet as an ordinance stockpile. Quobo was swiftly brought to justice, and the twenty year old Kiffar was free for the first time in his life. Thankful or his deliverance and unable to figure out what to do with his life, he joined the Republic Army and was given the name Kalen Dahlma.
His training was fierce and strenuous, but over time he became a skilled warrior and was promoted to the rank of Commander. With his own contingent of Republic Troopers Kalen was stationed on the Sword of the Republic Cruiser under the command of Jedi Knight Xin Bho. Four years after he enlisted at the age of 25, a fleet appeared at the edge of the Republic. The Sith had returned.
Dahlma battled across war torn world’s all across the galaxy, and for ten years led an unmatched force to victory in over 300 battles. Dahlma was decorated numerous occasions. Xin Bho even suggested to the Jedi Council having him inducted for his force sensitivity. The council deemed him too unpredictable and saw great discord within the heart of Kalen. The denial hurt Kalen very much, yet he kept his head high and led his troops proudly. That was until the Second Battle of Bothawui. It was there that his ship was boarded and though his troops fought valiantly they were over taken by the sheer number of Sith soldiers. He and Xin were taken prisoner. Xin refused to defect and was killed before his eyes. Lord Angral, however, felt much power in the Republic Commander and offered Kalen a place at his side. Angral seduced Kalen and began his training. The battle was a slim victory for the Republic, but in the end the Sith would benefit greatly from the young soldier they had caused to defect. The Republic believed Kalen was taken as a prisoner, and Angral made sure this ruse stayed true. Under the training of his new master Dahlma became more powerful than he had ever imagined. Tapping into his Kiffar heritage, Kalen was able to see into the thoughts of everyone. His ability eventually allowed for him to dominate the thoughts of others. This skill would become key to Angral’s devious scheme. When his training was complete Angral gave him the name Mendak. Finally Angral forced the Treaty of Coruscunt when he sacked the Jedi Temple and captured the Republic Capital. Part of the treaty stated the release of any prisoners of war. Mendak was returned to the republic and decorated as a war hero. It wasn’t long before he was elected as a Senator of the Ord Mantell government. His mission: to cause dissent amongst the people of Ord Mantell, a key border world between the Republic and the Sith Empire. By leading the Republic and the corrupt government into deals with criminals the world would soon fall into civil war and the galaxy would lose faith in the shining knight known as the Republic.

Name: Disciple Urthan
Title: Disciple Age: 26
Race: Human
Appearance: Short cut hair coupled with a goatee. A young man of Average height, and build only standing around 5’9”.
Personality/Quirks: Curious since birth Urthan has always asked one thing. Why? Why are things the way they are this eventually brought him to the question that has shaped his life since his early teens. What makes the force light, and dark? This led him to seek out training in the ways of the shadow or grey Jedi from Potentium.
Religion: Believe in the ever flowing force. Doesn’t consider the force to be something made up of two halves, but more of an energy that is inherently good. The force and the abilities it gives us is not evil. Only the people that use it towards evil ends are.
Abilities: An adapt force user, with fairly moderate fighting abilities. Fights best from afar using various force powers that most label either light or dark. Likes to combine abilities to increase their effectiveness Urthan can use force push, but by combining it with force lighting he can stun his opponents while keeping them at a distance.
Gear: Urthan wears black and grey robes that are tied close, but loosely to his body. This allows him free moment, but also gives him the ability to meld into the shadows. While Urthan does carry a green lightsaber his main weapon is that of a white tipped lightsaber pike strapped to his back. The extended range of this weapon allows Urthan to keep his distance while fighting giving him more time to assess the situation, and figure out the best course of action.
Faction: Not really dedicated to one group. While a member of the Potentium he finds himself feeling separate from them as well. He is a true shadow Jedi in perfect balance with the force. Urthan doesn’t think that the vast majority of shadow Jedi truly see the force as being a whole. He has noticed huge amounts of inconstancies in their actions for years now. Urthan however does fight for what normal Jedi’s refer to as the light side. He views the Sith as defilers of the force. Using it to control others and to wreak havoc is what allows people to cling onto the view of the force being two things instead of one.
History: Urthan was born on Tatooine. His mother had died giving birth to him leaving his father to raise him alone. His father worked as a miner, as well as a trader in a small shop he owned several days of the week. Having two jobs left little time to spend with his son. Urthan however didn’t really mind. From an early age he showed a sharp mind. He knew that the time his father spent away was so that there was always food on the table, for this he was eternally grateful.
At the age of 15 while playing in his room Urthan discovered if he focused hard enough he could cause the objects in his room to float and come towards him. Upon showing is father this he made him swear to never tell or show anyone what he could do. Urthan agreed trusting his father’s wisdom. A few years past and Urthan turned 18. While he had never spoken to his father again about his abilities behind closed doors he continued to practice. On the night of his 18th birthday his father told him he had a surprise for him. He said that they must go to his shop to get it. They worked their way there, but Urthan was confused by the route his father had taken. They were going the long way around town where no one lived.
Once they got to the store his father opened the doors, and inside was a man dressed in tan robes. His father shook hands with the man, and then they both stirred at him. The man smiled and introduced himself as Master Chin a teacher at Potentium. Urthan knew that he was leaving with his man. He turned to his father who quickly hugged him. He then gave him a black cloth bag, saying it was one of his most precious items that he and found in the mines.
Urthan then spent the seven years of his life training at the Potentium. He quickly developed skills far beyond his peers. It turned out that the parting gift from his father was actually a crystal from a Krayt Dragon. He used this rare item in the creation of his lightsaber pike giving it a white blade.
One night Urthan knew his time here was over. He could no longer ignore all the hypocrites that he lived among. He packed what little belongings he had, and slipped out of his room and made his way to the hold zone for the ships. He figured one of the smaller less used ships wouldn’t be missed much so saying a silent thanks for all of the teachers he’s had he took off.
He would go see his father. It had been far too long since he had seen the man who had given him so much.

I have one single issue...Just one, everything else is good. The Potentium is not developed till much after this often not considered an organization until After the movies. This doesn't mean your shadow Jedi doesn't work...Instead I ask you to change it to something pre-Protentium make a smaller less heard of group of Shadow users or be a rogue. This way in our universe the group you are in can be considered a forefather of the Potentium.

*tentatively raises hand*
You know I heart SW- and Potentiumists are dear to my heart- even proto ones, lol. I'm not so familiar with this time period though, so I'd need to do a bit of research if you still wanted to give it a try.
Hmm. Have just noted the date of your last post, so maybe it's too late...

No not at ALL!!! I have been waiting for a revival of this, SW fans need to unite around it. My background info I gave really does cover pretty much what is needed to know for the time period, however info from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic may be helpful as well...Post a sheet here so I can give it a once over and than send it on down for approval.
